Storage tanks, sumps, surfaces, molds, jigs and metal parts decontamination and cleaning are among the waste management related services we offer. These services include supply of technical staff and equipment as well as waste disposal by means of incineration using the Ministry of Industry, Department of Industrial Works approved cement kiln technology.

Our storage tank and related equipment cleaning and decontamination services are a combination of cleaning using the best and latest technology available coupled with waste management disposal services. Using ultra high pressure (UHP) water jet cleaning techniques we are able to decontaminate equipment, remove coating materials, paints, contaminates and dispose of residuals, using Thai Government and USEPA approved disposal methodologies.

Designed to meet your required schedule, we would provide well-trained experienced staff and the required equipment needed to carry out the cleaning and decontamination related activities. In addition, we would also provide safety training and advise our clients of the schedule of events, provide containers for temporary storage of the waste during the cleaning activities and documentation for the waste disposal.

The ultra high pressure water jet system employs water as the cleaning media at flows of approximately 27 liters per minute and pressures of up to 210,000 kPa. The ultra high pressure equipment design enables the operator to pin point cleaning, removing only the intended coating and contaminants.

Our experience includes plant road, automotive assembly jigs, fixtures, paint booth grades, paint booths and storage tank decommissioning and cleaning. Having serviced automotive plants and refineries, we are well qualified to service your equipment cleaning needs, as well as provide waste management services which are compliant with Thai laws and international (USEPA) standards.

The UHP decontamination unit is skid-mounted and powered by an electrical motor which may be driven either directly by your power source, or by means of a portable generator. Its compact size, portability and versatility make this system suitable for various cleaning and decontamination related activities.

Remidiation and Restoration Services

Site remediation and restoration is among the services we offer. BYL was involved, as the main sub-contractor, in the planning and execution of the site remediation activities of the Bo Fai Airport in Hau Hin together with other projects for private clients.

Working with reputable environmental engineering companies such as Golder Associates, IEM and CDM, we are involved in site investigation and restoration related activities. The scope of the services we provide differs from one project to the next and depends on the client's requirements and site conditions. Onsite Thermal Treatment

Waste management costs are of the utmost importance for manufacturers and producers. As such, companies are always seeking ways to reduce waste management services costs while keeping regulatory compliance as the top priority.

One of the many services we offer our customers is the examination of waste management practices within the company with a view to finding measures to reduce, reuse or recycle waste material. This approach often reveals the need to install thermal treatment systems on-site which often yield a significant reduction in waste management related costs.

Onsite thermal treatment is not suitable for every manufacturer and its application for facility-generated waste is very much dependent on the waste type, quantities generated and area availability, etc. BYL can examine all of the requirements and advise if the installation and operation of such a system is suitable and cost effective for the waste management needs of the company.

Parts and Equipment Cleaning

Our Parts and equipment cleaning capability employs two types of equipment, the first is ultra high pressure (UHP) water jet and the second a fluidized bed. These two methodologies are well proven and are presently employed in the cleaning of storage tanks and parts, many of these are automotive manufacturers.

In the fluidized bed, parts are placed into a basket and submerged in a sand bed, fluidized by the injection of a gas. Exposed to the agitated sand media and equipped with burners to destroy organic matter removed from the contaminated parts, this technology yields clean parts without deforming them, while treating the contaminants by means of thermal destruction.

Ultra high pressure (UHP) water jet technology is well proven and currently being employed as an alternative means to sand blasting and chemical cleaning. Water, regulated and injected at pressures of up to 210,000kPa is directed at the contaminants, removing them without effecting the components to be cleaned.

BYL Transportation

BYL is a licensed waste transported and the firm owns specialty transport vehicles. The truck are staffed with licensed and trained drivers and equipped with spill and emergency response kits. In addition, to keep current with local and international waste transport regulations and in accordance with ISO 14001 requirements, BYL transport staff undergoes emergency and spill response training, as well as annual refresher courses.

Waste Disposal Services

Our waste treatment services employ the use of cement kiln incineration technology. This technology is very well known internationally for the treatment of disposal of waste materials and is presently employed in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Africa.

Organic and some inorganic waste treatment and disposal requires complete destruction using high temperature thermal devices. At present Thailand does not have a hazardous waste incineration facility, although the Ministry of Industry (MOI) plans to have one built. The incinerator, once built would be able to treat some 30 tons of organic and inorganic hazardous waste per day. This facility is expected to be complete by 2004.

Incineration of waste materials via a hazardous waste incineration facility does result in some residual solids. These solids, depending on composition, may require stabilization and most definitely will require disposal at a secured landfill site.

The thermal destruction services offered by BYL are by far less expensive than the planed MOI Bangpoo incineration facility. BYL, trough its cooperation with HOLDERBANK (Siam City Cement), an entity licensed by the IWD Director General is able to offer treatment of hazardous materials at the Saraburi SCCC cement manufacturing facility. Equipped with several kilns and ISO 14001 certified, this facility is one of the largest in Asia and is able to treat a large portion of the organic waste generated in Thailand as well as process approximately 11 million tons of cement per year.

Cement kilns have are able to offer hazardous waste incineration facilities on the basis that they can utilize organic and some inorganic waste in the cement manufacturing process, while hazardous waste incinerators can only provide destruction with no other added value.

The key operating parameters of hazardous waste incinerators and cement kilns have been studied by the USEPA and other environmental agencies around the world. At present 22 cement kilns in the United States burn hazardous waste materials, while in Europe the figure is even higher.

The above table clearly demonstrates that treatment by means of cement kiln is far more effective than using a hazardous waste incinerator.
